Rock Band Microphone and Windows 7 Speech Recognition

I was wondering how I could get my PC to recognize some basic voice commands, and then realized that I needed a microphone. I reluctantly started to browse some web sites to see what kind of costs would be involved in buying one. But, then I thought...Would the the (original) Rock Band microphone work? The answer is "Yes!". Just plug it in and my Windows 7 picks it up and off you go! And now I'm actually writing part of this blog entry using only my voice...Cool, huh? I'm surprised at how well it works; voice recognition has come a long way indeed. It's really quite fun to use.
