The demo was some fun and I decided to spring for the whole game. It's actually a lot slower than NHL 08, which I thought was a bit strange at first and the it's a lot tougher to handle the puck (seems to bounce around a lot more). The defense is a lot tougher too (maybe too tough, setting up in the offensive zone is much more difficult).
But maybe that's because I am still in the AHL with my created character, trying to one day crack the Habs NHL lineup. This "Be a Pro" game mode is pretty addictive, and right now I have moved from the third line to the top line for the Hamilton Bulldogs. Some players at this level cannot even make a decent pass, so I'll see how things play out at the NHL level. But so far so good.
